a-day-out-with-armyA group of over 100 students from Kinnaird College visited various military units and formations at Lahore Garrison on Thursday.

The programme, ‘A Day Out with Army’ has been specifically introduced throughout the Army on instructions of Chief of Army Staff to acquaint students from different colleges and universities on routine functioning of Pakistan Army and its operational preparedness.

The objective is also to instil even greater sense of patriotism, confidence and dedication towards the country in our youth. Earlier, a group of students from F.C College Lahore spent a day with troops.

The day-long itinerary included wreath laying ceremony and dua at Yadgar-e-Shuhada. It was followed by a demonstration of combat worthiness of troops, visit to infantry and armour battalion, arms and equipment display including small arms fire. The programme culminated at Ganda Singh Wala check post at Pak-India border near Kasur.

The students witnessed flag lowering ceremony and were enthralled by the smart turn out and immaculate drills by troops of Pakistan Rangers amidst highly charged crowd on both sides of the border.

Throughout the visit, the students evinced keen interest and demonstrated great enthusiasm as it was a life time opportunity and experience provided to them. They applauded the state of morale, commitment and professional competence of Pak Army.
